Daryl is the author of 17 books for children as well as a singer, songwriter, storyteller, actor and premier children's educational presenter.
Note to Coordinators: As you look at the video clips keep in mind that what you are about to see are some of the demonstrations and/or the entertainment aspects of Daryl's programs. Most Topic Talks have been removed from the clips in order to protect Daryl's program material from being used by others.
The day usually starts with song: As the students enter, they will find Daryl playing the guitar and singing.

For younger kids "Kayley's Room" is simply presented as a song with corresponding photographs for the student to refer to. (As presented in this video clip.) For students attending "A Writer's Journey", this composition is used as part of a Topic Talk to teach kids how to come up with detail for their stories.
For younger kids "Bill the Bat Loves Halloween" is presented as a story with corresponding illustration to demonstrate the illustration process. (As presented in this video clip.) For those attending "A Writer's Journey" this story is used as part of a Topic Talk to teach kids how to use real-life/small moments in their stories.
Pirates' readers' theater is both fun and interactive. Daryl works his way around the audience and gets the students and teachers actively involved. This skit is used during "Music & Storytime" and "A Writer's Journey - Primary".
This skit also Highlights Daryl's Personalized School Book, "Do Pirates Go To (insert your school name) School?.
This is a one-of-a-kind writer's exercise where the kids learn to think like writer's.
For a lot of authors Pre-K, K, and 1 can be a hard audience to keep focused. But Daryl's "Music & Storytime" program bounces along from song to song and story book to story book with so much energy, movement and activity that these little students have no time to get restless. The music is an attention grabber!
