Daryl Cobb calls New Jersey home, but he will jump in his SUV or hop on a plane to come and spend the day with your students, no matter where your school is located.  All you have to do is ask. 

• New Jersey is Daryl's home state; he has lived there on and off his whole life.  He went to Hampton Public School in Hampton, New Jersey and graduated from North Hunterdon High School in Hunterdon County. His travels have taken him away from the area over the years, but his love for New Jersey just kept bringing him home. Daryl has done hundreds of author visits in his home state, and he loves to share his passion for reading and writing with the kids.

Pennsylvania is a beautiful state and one that Daryl Cobb knows well.  Daryl bought his first home in Easton, Pennsylvania in the early 90s. He lived on the Main Line while his wife attended Villanova Law School and lived in Queen's Village in the heart of Philadelphia for several years. Daryl's author visits and programs have given him the opportunity to visit schools across the state and help inspire students to be creative. Daryl was a huge Pittsburg Pirates fan growing up, go Pirates.

Daryl was born in Utica New York and still has ties to the area.  Daryl spent many summers visiting his grandmother and even lived in Utica for a year while attending Mohawk Community College. He has also lived on Manhattan's east side and continued to study acting after college. Daryl first visited Massachusetts was with his future wife about 10 years before he penned his first children's book. Daryl was a big fan of the TV show Cheers, so his first experience with the city of Boston was a trip to see the famous bar he came to love. The real bar didn't live up to the fictional one, but the trip left him with a taste for New England. On top of that Daryl's youngest brother attended college in Boston, met a girl and planted roots in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Each year Daryl's author visits school tour takes him to the Boston area where he inspires kids to be creative and when he can catch up with family.

Daryl has been doing author visits in Connecticut for 15 years and he is always excited to book programs there.  Mystic is one of his favorite stops each and every year and he never misses a chance to stop at Food Truck Paradise in New Haven. Before his writing career Daryl lived in New London where he worked for a touring company and traveled with large groups as a tour escort. Daryl's author visits have given him the opportunity to return to Connecticut year after year and share his love of writing, music and creative arts with students all over the state.

Over the years Maryland has become like a second home to Daryl. His older brother Shawn, his wife and many nieces and nephews resided in Joppa Maryland. His author visits to Maryland schools have given him the chance to spend time with family that he would have otherwise missed out on. Daryl loves his visits and will take up their spare bedroom whenever possible. Maryland schools have been bringing in Daryl's author visits programs for years and he is grateful to all of them for giving him the opportunity to work with their students.

Daryl loves going to New Hampshire to do in school author visits, it's a long trip, but it's well worth the time. Daryl history with New Hampshire goes back to when he was a child.  His aunt on his father's side of the family, (Shirley Rudman) was married to the Attorney General of the state. His uncle Warren would eventually become the United States Senator from New Hampshire.  Daryl remembers his time spent at their home in Nashua and the endless journey from New Jersey to get there. Long games of yellow car passed the time, as did the thought of spending days at the beach. Hampton beach with his grandma was always fun, but anything he did with his grandma was special. Daryl's school tour takes him to New Hampshire most years and the moment he enters the state he can't help but feel like that little kid again.

Daryl has gotten to know Rhode Island very well over the years. His author visits programs first brought him to Rhode Island in 2009 and then in 2016 his son decided to attend the University of Rhode Island. After the very first visit to URI his daughter declared that she was going there too. In 2022 she graduated with a degree in business and sports communications. After eight years in Rhode Island Daryl and his family can't help but feel at home there. Daryl's author visits take him to schools all across the United States but booking a school visit to Rhode Island is always exciting for him.

A trip to Maine each year was a family tradition in Daryl's house. Summertime fun, a cabin in the woods, with a view of the lake. His dad loved to fish, and Maine was always the destination. Daryl's dad passed some years ago, but when he visits schools in Maine, he can't help but remember his dad and the fun they shared as a family there.
