This author visits show runs 40-45-minutes. It is a music and story presentation that will have the children singing, clapping and having the best time ever. During this program Daryl will pull out his guitar and get the students singing. He will keep them engaged with his books and his storytelling skills.

Daryl Cobb isn't just an author; he's a whirlwind of creativity and energy that swept through our school, leaving students from grades K-5 buzzing with excitement for reading and writing.
Our younger set (K-2) was treated to a gentler, more whimsical presentation (than 3-5). Cobb's use of colorful props, storytelling and sing-alongs created a magical atmosphere that captivated even the most wiggly kindergartners. His genuine warmth and humor put even the shyest kids at ease.
The day usually starts with song: As the students enter, they will find Daryl playing the guitar and singing.
(Music is adjusted to suit grade level attending.)
Daryl's ability to get all the students actively involved in his programs is fun to watch and exciting to be a part of.

For a lot of authors Pre-K, K, and 1 can be a hard audience to keep focused. But Daryl's "Music & Storytime" program bounces along from song to song and story book to story book with so much energy, movement and activity that these little students have no time to get restless. The music is an attention grabber!
"It's all in the Words." (See Video "The importance of words")
"Kayley's Room" (See Video Above")
"Monkeys on the bed" (See Video Above)
"Little Bo Beep"
"Twinkle, Twinkle" and more.
To keep the program lively Daryl performs all of his story books as the kids either watch him and/or follow the illustrations flashing on the movie screen.

Daddy Did I Ever Say? I Love You, Love You, Every Day"
Pirates' readers' theater is both fun and interactive. Daryl works his way around the audience and gets the students and teachers actively involved. This skit is used during Daryl's author visits shows "Music & Storytime" and "A Writer's Journey - Primary".
For younger kids "Kayley's Room" is simply presented as a song with corresponding photographs for the student to refer to. (As presented in this video clip.) For "A Writer's Joureny" programs this composition is used as part of a Topic Talk to teach kids how to come up with detail for their stories.
For younger kids "Bill the Bat Loves Halloween" is presented as a story with corresponding illustration to demonstrate the illustration process. (As presented in this video clip.) For "A Writer's Journey" programs this story is used as part of a Topic Talk to teach kids how to use real-life/small moments in their stories.
